£ 0.00

THIS SESSION IS NOW CANCELLED. We will be back after bank holiday on Monday 13th of May.

Running 10:30-12:00 in the woodland at The Deer Park, Maker Lane, Hoar Cross, Burton-on-Trent DE13 8QR.

£5.50 per child (all ages).
Block book for 6 weeks for £30 making it £5/session.

Our outdoor playgroup takes place in the secret wood behind the Deer Park, and aims to help you and your children connect with nature through the seasons. There is lots of freeplay to enjoy, including the mud kitchen area, hammocks, nest swing and den building and invitations to learn and explore using natural materials.

The playgroup is most suited from age 1 up to age 5. However, even babies and the parents/carers can benefit from all the joys of being out in the woods. There are also sensory activities suitable for little ones available each week including wooden toys and curiosity basket. This area is actually suitable for all ages seeking a quieter moment. Our mindful moments tree is also great for both children and grown ups! There is no charge for siblings under the age of 1.

We will often have a natural craft, group activity or tool work activity for those that would like to have a go, and later bubbles and group story time.

There are long and short walks to enjoy before or after your sessions around Deer Park, and a wonderful cafe serving hot drinks, cakes and breakfasts and lunches. Those with a Woodland playgroup booking simply need to show their booking confirmation to receive a free babycino in the cafe on the same day, when you purchase an adult drink.

There is ample free parking on site, and toilet facilities in the farm shop.

The childminder ticket allows for an adult and 3 children to attend for £12.50. Block booking for 6 weeks makes this just £3.88 per child.

We run whatever the weather, unless conditions are too dangerous to be in the woodland such as high winds or storms forecast. Please dress both yourself and your child/ren appropriately with sturdy shoes, layers and things you don't mind get dirty. The path can get muddy after rain, and long trousers recommened due to bugs and nettles.

Please ensure you leave a phone number on the booking info just in case we need to contact you on the morning of the event regarding weather conditions etc.

The Deer Park kindly request that picnics are not consumed on site, however you are welcome to stay and have a snack/sandwich in our woodland area until we are packed up. If it is a particularly muddy day, please also bring a change of footwear for little ones if you plan to visit the cafe afterwards.
