Outdoor learning

As a freelance facilitator I can provide cirriculum-based learning in the outdoors. Do you have a history topic that needs to be brought to life with tools and roleplay? Do you want to engage children with poetry to improve literacy outcomes? Maybe you are looking for a way to make maths practical for relucant learners? My bite-size 1-2hr lessons may be the solution you need.

Crafts and skills

From making natural cordage to  weaving, making healing balms using wild botanicals, campfire cooking, wild teas, creative recycling, earth candles and fire lighting techniques, shelter building and water purification... if its bushcraft, survival skills or handicrafts crafts you're interested in delivering to your cohort, Little Trees can deliver a workshop to suit.

Nature study

Each week introduces children to a different nature theme to focus on. From rocks to mud, nesting birds to moon phases, plant life cycles to animal habitats - we cover a lot of ground throughout the year building on their knowledge and understanding of the natural world, increasing vocabulary and instilling a lifelong love of nature.
Sessions last 45-60 mins.

Wellbeing

Using nature as our guide I can create wellbeing experiences that encourage mindfulness. This could be through mindful crafting, forest bathing techniques, and journalling, or mix of all of the above. I can also include these mindful practices in my other workshops and programmes. Ideal for staff wellbeing days or private groups.

Private events

Whether your event is a day retreat, short workshop or large festival I can provide an outdoor learning experience, bushcraft or craft workshop, or a number of mindful activities for children, young people and adults of all ages.

Please get in touch to discuss your event needs.

Onsite or offsite

Sessions can be delivered at your setting or venue, or please enquire about the fantastic venues I work with across the Staffordshire countryside to really feel like you are getting away from it all.

“Little Trees has provided our setting with a wonderful addition to the learning we offer to our children. Sarah brings the true essence of outdoor learning. The sessions are engaging, fun, and cover a broad range of learning opportunities. Offering our children kinaesthetic and educational learning that supports all seven areas of learning and widens their experiences.”
