Hello; I'm Sarah! Me and my family enjoy being in the outdoors, exploring and being creative. I believe spending time in nature and out in the fresh air is one of the greatest tools we have to help combat mental and physical health issues in both children and adults.
A few years ago now I studied for my Diploma in Mindfulness for Children, and booked myself onto the Outdoor Learning Practitioner course with the Royal Forestry Society. I enrolled in a development course around the same time, called Branch Into Nature, and that is when the stars seemed to align and Little Trees was born. I've since gone on to complete courses in outdoor play, mental health and resilience, and got my Bushcraft Competency Certificate. As a life-long crafter, and a personal quest to reduce my familie's environmental impact (in particular plastic-waste), my workshops are all about conscious crafting; which means being aware of the resources we use, the environment and the world around us, the purpose of what we design, and also being mindful and tuning in with ourselves. I can often be found making something cool out of what others would consider junk!
My days are spent making about a thousand breakfasts, tending the veg patch, delivering my nature study programme and outdoor playgroup, and creating meaningful, and seasonal, learning experiences and workshops for adults and children. I get to work in some beautiful places, meet the most inspiring people, and often theres opportunity to enjoy coffee around the fire with likeminded souls.
Do get in touch to say hello, book me for your school or group, find out more about a workshop, or even just to make a connection and come for a walk and a forage in the countryside.
